COURSE OR COLLEGE..WHAT TO CHOOSE??
Amidst the ongoing hustle and bustle of admission process your priorities are on; a good college, a decent job and a happy life but in the process, you may encounter an important question that is a question of preference and value. Where high cut-offs limit your option you actually have to choose and prefer one over another, for example; Ramjas or Hindu, Kirorimal or Hansraj? It can also Delhi university v/s another university. Shiny brand names may outweigh your course preference and you end up taking the wrong decision.
Here are five reasons why a course is far more important than college?
1) Career orientation- Though your course defines your career orientation your college does not. Getting into a good college may ensure good placements but not good life until and unless you are enjoying the process.
2) Long term Decision- I know getting into good college is a tag or a brand for life but getting it at the cost of your subject is a short-sighted decision because at the end what matters is the work you want to engage in; when interested in humanities getting into SRCC to pursue accounting or economics is actually a foolish decision…rather choosing political science and pursuing it from Daulat Ram would be a wise decision.
3) Brand name- what actually a brand denotes is an important question…quality right? You can be qualitative in other colleges as well but choosing a course is an irreversible decision and will impact your future.
4) You won’t be a dropout- Though it may seem funny but giving 3 or 4 years of your life to a subject or course just because of college brand name may seem easier initially but later it can cause a lot of stress forcing you to drop out in the middle.
5) Ease in the process- Choosing a right course is pertinent and of immense importance …a familiar course will make three years of under graduation more fruitful and smooth and thereby giving you the energy to grab most of the opportunities.
After all the analysis it will be your call, choose wisely.
THANK YOU!
